One chapter of my life has ended. I now set out to write a new one - a chapter of my own with the children.

Wow what do I tell someone to grab their attention? I am 5'4 with long auburn hair, red lips, brown eyes, and well a couple extra pounds. I made this profile as an experiment. After some time on this site I began to realize that the girls fell into one of two categories, almost exclusively. The two groups are those of you who are here solely for an ego boost. You joined this site with no intention of ever actually meeting anyone, you just want guys to message you so that you can feel wanted. While there is nothing wrong with wanting to feel desirable you are doing so at the cost of other people, and that is unacceptable.

The second category are those of you who decide to reply based solely on how the guy looks. Incidentally, the OKCupid staff crunched their own data and came up with the same conclusion that I found. Women on OKCupid are cunts. Maybe it wasn't worded that way, but the fact remains that you are all so very, very vain. In this weird subculture you are inundated with messages from guys and you decide upon whom to bestow the honor of your reply by browsing pictures as one browses eBay Motors.

With my first profile I experienced perhaps a 5% reply rate, 10% at best. I would come across girls that had identical interests, high match %, etc, yet no reply. I began to suspect that this was due to my picture, which wasn't entirely unflattering, but not nearly as blatantly vain as my current one. So, I decided to perform this little experiment. I left the text of my profile the same as it was, but added the current picture. I waited a month or so then sent out several messages. The catch? I sent the exact same messages to the exact same girls.

The results speak for themselves. My reply rate went from a meager 5% to somewhere in the market of 80%. to take my social experiment to the next level I decided to respond to each reply with the same sentence: "All I do is work on my rockin' abs, ride my bike, and sometimes go to work. How about you?"

It didn't matter what kind of response my initial message received, this was my reply. Amazingly, almost half of those messages received a positive reply.

The lesson here is that nearly every girl on this site is a miserable bitch. I am not angry so much as saddened. Years ago this was a nice place to meet people, but not anymore. Now it serves as a quick self-esteem boost at the cost of others. Its only going to get worse, get out while you still can.

I appreciate the cheesy things in life and if you're being a cheese ball, chances are that I'll call you on it. I used words like "sickeningly cute" and "shenanigans". I drink a lot of Dr. Pepper and I think tattoos are incredibly sexy. My favorite color is purple. I talk about doing a lot of things I don't have the guts to do because I might regret the consequences but I'm getting better about doing that.

I'm an animal lover and I have no idea how to set up this summary so it flows. I like walking around in my bare feet in the summer and getting sun burnt just enough to give that tingly feeling when you move. I always have to have my toe nails painted and I'm currently trying to grow my hair out because I got it cut short a while ago and I miss the length.

I've got a really wide range in taste in music. My car right now only has the radio and picks up about three stations - the "popular music" channel, the country channel, and if I'm lucky, the alternative channel that's been playing Pearl Jam and Nirvana since the nineties with the occasional new rock song thrown in here and there. That all means that I appreciate different things. I'll give anything a listen. I like rap music and music you can dance to, but I like acoustic, softer stuff and I can totally jam to country music. I like rock stuff the most but I can enjoy almost anything (except Snoop Dogg, I'm not really into him so much).

I'm not really much of a girly-girl, my style pretty much consists of t-shirts and jeans. I'm working on that though! I love colors and I really like my handwriting. I'm a little OCD about that though, if I eff something I'm writing up, usually I'll start over with it. That's one of the main reasons I type all my notes for class, no room for effing anything up. I like scary movies but I've been in situations before where I've seen some really scary stuff and I'm a chicken when placed in those situations, I won't even lie to you guys. I'm not a rock during movies, I get scared, I jump, it happens and I'm not embarrassed about it! Sad movies make me cry. I like musicals.

Oh, and I could probably fall in love with someone who makes me a mix tape (that's an actual cassette, not a cd) because I think they're incredibly personal and a lot of thought has to go into them. It's one of those "sickeningly sweet" gestures I would melt over.
